Wonder Women Documentary Update

Holy Moly.... "Wonder Women" NEWS!  I can't tell you how excited I am to see this documentary.  This was a kickstarter project I helped fund and promoted on the blog.  It will be a glorious day when I get this DVD in the mail!  In the meantime, Kristy and Kelcey sent out an email with all sorts of new exciting information.  If you haven't heard of this project please take a minute and check out their website (link down at the bottom).  Initially the project was a historical look at Wonder Woman but developed into something much more wondrous.

We're thrilled to announce our first San Francisco Bay area, home-town screening! "Wonder Women!" will be playing at the Mill Valley Film Festival in San Rafael, California. Screening dates are Saturday, October 13 (at 9:15 pm) and Sunday, October 14 (at 3:00 pm). Since Kristy and most of our production team are based in the San Francisco Bay area, we're hoping to see a lot of our friends, family members and colleagues at these shows. We'd love to share the film with you, get your feedback, and take the opportunity to thank you in person for all your support.

Tickets are on sale now for California Film Institute members, and go on sale to the general public on September 16. See all the details at the Mill Valley Film Festival website here.

In another great development, the "Wonder Women!" team will be taking part in the Bay Area Video Coalition's Producers Institute for New Media Technologies, which is one of the best opportunities for filmmakers to develop their outreach in new and exciting ways. We'll be joining a select group of documentary filmmakers as we strategize and workshop ideas for transmedia projects, to extend the message of "Wonder Women!" beyond the film itself. In particular, we'll be collaborating with our non-profit partner Games for Change and the game designer Naomi Clark on the development of "Wonder City," a new, interactive game. Read more about our work with Games for Change here. You can learn more about "Wonder City" and the other Producers Institute projects at a public conference day at BAVC on Saturday, October 13, in San Francisco.

Soon we'll be able to announce another home-town screening in New York City (where Kelcey lives). And we're excited about our upcoming screening at the Dallas VideoFest, in Dallas, Texas, home of Executive Producer Erin Prather Stafford.
